Patrick Gouker

Welcome to Middle School Theology! My name is Patrick Gouker and I excited to journey with our Middle School students as they grow deeper in their relationship with Christ through prayer and study.

A graduate of the University of Notre Dame where I studied theology, French, philosophy, and math. I began teaching at Mishawaka Catholic (my alma mater) during the 2023-24 school year in which I taught the fourth grade. After a wonderful year, I moved to the St. Monica Campus to teach theology, my main area of focus, to our middle school students.

I am very grateful to work with students and parents as, together, we grow closer to God. Together we challenge one another daily not only to strive for academic excellence but also to become better disciples of Jesus Christ, growing in the virtues and especially growing in love of He Who first loved us (cf. 1 Jn 4:19).

The curricula for the grades is as follows:

6th Grade focuses on coming to know and understand God's self-revelation through Christ as the Word Incarnate with a particular focus on Salvation History and the Old Testament.

7th Grade focuses on understanding the life of discipleship and morality, preparing students to grow in spiritual maturity and be prepared to seek out the Sacrament of Confirmation in their 8th Grade year.

8th Grade focuses on the History of the Church through the eyes of the saints and works to understand how the Church's rich history continues to influence and inspire our lives today.
